Following on from the success of our previous collaboration with Super 78 in Los Angeles, in 2018 we were commissioned to start work on a new project called Flying Over Indonesia for Trans Studio Bali.
“This state-of-the-art ride takes guests on a thrilling aerial tour of Indonesia including Borneo, Lake Toba, the Bali Coast, Jakarta, the Kuin River and Komodo Island, which also features one of the first underwater sequences for a flying attraction. Among the other firsts for Flying Over Indonesia, thousands of extras from each region were also used in several of the shots to add an element of authenticity to the film and provide additional cultural relevance for the guests.”

This new adventure allowed us to undertake building and animating both full CG shots and integrating CG creatures, people and objects into live action plates.
Working with 196 degree field of view, at 8K and 60 fps we undertook the challenges of creating a unique Bali-style garden at the start of the ride, as well as the underwater world of Raja Ampat, teaming with fish, manta rays, turtles and human divers.
We brought these travelling shots to life with cheeky monkeys, fish, leaping dolphins, flying cranes, an elephant family and wild horses racing across the dusty plains near Mount Bromo.
For the GWK Culture Park we replaced the incomplete structure of a 20 meters high Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue featuring the God Vishnu.
We fly past this structure – the world’s largest and highest monumental statue – so close that the audience can truly marvel at its scale and detail.
